28 new episodes have aired since the strike began on 5/2 so that means there is about only 2 new episodes left before we start seeing repeats. This is because GH is taped at max 6 weeks ahead which totals 30 episodes.

I read in another thread that they were stockpiling episodes because of the strike so they have many more saved up. Not sure how accurate that is, but it’s what I read.

Thanks for the update. They must have given the cast a super busy schedule in order to stockpile all those episodes but whatever works.

Someone said they had stockpiled scripts & barring an actors strike, should be ok for a couple of months.

Typically they film about six weeks ahead. I have also heard that they stockpiled months of scripts so that would last probably Sept/October. Hopefully by then this strike will end. I do sometimes wish they would hire other writers just to see what it would be like.

Well, 5imon, GH was a repeat on Friday, the 9th & then preempted on Monday (just so we could watch Trump’s motorcade coming & going from the courthouse while the reporters just talked back & forth about the motorcade), so, alas, you may be exactly right—but I hope not, also!

Oh I am sure there will be weeks of this. Trump sneezes in front of the courthouse. News report. Trump says hi to someone. News report. And not just one news report. It will be commentary.

At least I watch on Hulu so I don’t have to deal with this on a DVR, which I used to use. I was shocked that ABC covered Tuesday’s mess for a whole hour before the arraignment. WTF?

On the bright side, the constant preemptions could work in their favor a bit. More interruptions mean more new episodes/scripts saved even if they’re only delayed by a day or two.
