'Married by Mom and Dad' Parents Panic in Season 2 Trailer

September 2024 · 2 minute read

They brought you into this world, and now they’re picking your special someone! Married by Mom and Dad is returning for a second season, Us Weekly can exclusively announce, and the first trailer shows the drama that can ensue when parents get free rein in choosing their kids’ spouse.

The TLC arranged-marriage series‘ new batch of episodes, launching Sunday, November 27, focuses on one man and three women who have yet to find their perfect match and decide to allow their parents to pick a stranger for them to wed. After the potential suitors get winnowed down, each final pair will then meet for the first time at their wedding ceremony.

One key scene in the trailer shows a dad taking a potential son-in-law to a gun range as an act of intimidation. “It’s till death do you part — if you decide to part, you got to outrun my gun,” the protective papa tells the poor guy.

This season’s singles are Devin, a 26-year-old former NFL player who is hoping to find someone physically attractive and not just after his money; Tahnee, a 30-year-old who has lost faith in dating; Bethany, a 24-year-old teacher with a happy life but no one to share it with; and Marissa, a 27-year-old with high expectations.

One memorable moment in the promo features Devin asking a friend about his new romantic partner, “Do you think I should mention that I f–ked the wedding planner?” And they say chivalry is dead.

Watch the craziness unfold in the trailer above. Married by Mom and Dad returns to TLC Sunday, November 27, at 10 p.m. ET.
