Short bangs are in! 

Lady Gaga debuted super-short bangs a la her “Video Phone” collaborator Beyonce in London on Monday, Oct 20. The “Bad Romance” singer, 28, went dark and sultry with a short cropped bob that featured a blunt cut and coordinated the look with dark cat eye makeup and a stenciled brow.

Beyonce, 33, received some criticism after debuting her bangs on Tuesday, Oct. 14 in London, but the “Run the World” singer is still proudly pushing the trend with her light-colored honey blonde ‘do.

According to George Gonzalez of George the salon Chicago, this retro style has a name. “The ‘micro bang’ is a bold statement cut and the right amount of texture is key to pull the off,” Gonzalez tell Us Weekly.

It all comes down to the wearer’s natural hairline. “If your hairline is dense, a bang like this can look fantastic,” Gonzalez assures. “With a choppy, short fringe, you also can’t ignore cowlicks. If a client has too many, they should consider the amount of work they will need to do daily to smooth them out.”

Lastly, before committing to the hack, research is key. “Bring pictures just in case you cannot find what you want in the salon magazines,” Gonzalez advises. “Don’t go too short. It’s best to start gradually cutting; your stylist can always take more off.”
