Kate Middleton Wore My Favorite Butt-Flattering Jeans Back to Back

August 2024 · 3 minute read

Finding the perfect jeans is like finding the perfect partner. Now sure, I’d argue that “perfect” is a relative term; it means something different for everyone, and what’s “perfect” for one person might not be that for the other — and that’s okay. But, all that to say, we have standards and have desires, and those should be met, both when it comes to jeans (lol) and a partner.

I’ve searched long and hard for both — and I have, in fact, found both: the perfect partner and the perfect jeans. But for the sake of telling this story, I’m going to be talking about the latter — the denim, duh. I was prompted to share my discovery because it seems that Kate Middleton came to the same conclusion — that Mother Denim is worth re-wearing.

The Princess of Wales was photographed at two royal outings earlier in November wearing the most quintessential fall outfits that are worth copying right now. Think: cozy sweaters, quilted jackets, and chunky combat boots, all staples that you can wear now and for the next six months. But the star of the ensemble was, undoubtedly, her jeans. I called them out earlier this month as the denim style you’re probably sleeping on (because you probably are!), but I’m not done talking about them just yet. The style is iconic, but the brand behind it is, well, even more iconic. The Mother of all denim, literally.

Middleton’s Mother jeans are nearly sold out (as you’d expect) and feature an elegant dark-wash and cool kick-flare hem that’s simply too good not to call out again. They look ultra-flattering and appear ultra-comfy, and that’s because they are — and you can take my word for it, since I consider myself a big Mother denim stan and own multiple pairs from the Los Angeles-based label.

It’s as though the brand really nailed the art of crafting denim that’s both butt-flattering (whenever I wear mine, I feel like my booty is lifted) and comfortable, as in I never feel constricted or confined when I wear its jeans. And I know that’s a common problem with jeans. The rigid material isn’t always the most enjoyable to wear, but so many of Mother’s are made from a subtly stretchy cotton that moves with you, so much so that I recently wore them on a road trip — that obviously required hours in the car — and I didn’t want to rip them off the second I got home. Now that speaks volumes to their comfort.

The fact that Middleton wore her Mother jeans back to back also speaks volumes about them, but it’s worth mentioning that she’s not the only famous face who’s been spotted in the brand. Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Garner, Meghan Markle, and more have also stepped out in Mother’s flattering jeans that sure, are a splurge, but they’re absolutely worth it.

It’s simple girl math: A pair of jeans that cost, say, $248, that you wear every day, for years and years? They’re basically free, right? Right. Plus, comfy blues that look so good on (plus boost your butt) are basically priceless. So shop some trending Mother styles below, and get ready to wear them nonstop. Pinky promise.
