Chris Trousdale has tragically died at the age of 34. “It is with a heavy heart that we confirm the passing of Chris Trousdale on June, 2, 2020 from an undisclosed illness,” Chris’s longtime friend, music manager, and representative confirmed the news in a statement to HollywoodLife. “He was a light to so many and will be missed dearly by his family, friends and fans all over the world. Although it felt like he belonged to us all, the family is requesting that you respect their privacy at this time of grieving.” The former Dream Street boy band member passed away following complications from coronavirus. Chris died at a Burbank hospital during the evening of June 2, mourned by his devoted friends and loving family.
Jesse McCartney, one of Chris’s former Dream Street bandmates, shared a moving tribute to the singer on June 3. “It pains me to say that an old friend, Chris Trousdale, from my early days in the music industry has passed away due to complications from COVID-19,” the singer shared, along with a photo of Chris, to his Instagram page. Jesse’s touching tribute described how the pair “built a real brotherhood” in the three years that the band was together. Although they drifted apart, Chris still held a special place in Jesse’s heart, as he closed his post saying, “My deepest sympathies go out to his mother whom I know cherished him dearly. RIP Chris. I’ll never forget your smile.”

The boy band only last for a few years, disbanding in 2002 following disagreements between management and the boys’ parents. The group, however, did see some success. They released two albums — Dream Street in 2001 and The Biggest Fan in 2002. Dream Street also served as a launching pad for the talented youngsters, notably breakout star Jesse McCartney.

Along with his singing career, Chris also had some credits in acting. He appeared on series such as Days of Our Lives, Shake It Up, Austin & Ally and Lucifer. Chris leaves behind an adoring family.
